"Hands of Time" clock for Bleeding Art

Hi there arty friends! LynneJ here with my first DT post for Bleeding Art, and I wanted to do something unusual and a little quirky:

The chipboard grandfather clock is a 3D kit from Gypsy Soul Lasercuts, and I had so much fun creating this. I used dark grey wodgrain paper to cover the body of the clock, using the gear-patterned paper for the pull-out drawer and the inside back. I added a few black rubons to the sides of the piece, added some Stone Effects spray paint very lightly here and there

The cool-looking piece on the face of the clock is from a real timepiece! My friend gave me some of the watch and clock parts she had gotten from her father-in-law, who was a retired clockmaker.I just rubbed a little Finnabair Metallique wax in Rich Copper onto the surface as well as onto my metal and chipboard gears and the clock hands to make them coordinate with the gear paper.

The phrase, "if the hands of time were hands that I could hold..." is a lyric from the theme song of the 70s movie "Brian's Song" and I have always loved this line and have been wanting to use it on a project for a long time-so glad I finally found the right one! I cut the hands from a photo I had from a kids' class I taught years ago.The lyrics are stickers attached to strips of vellum and twisted a bit for interest.I had recently watched a story with an angel character in it who was losing feathers from his wings, and that inspired me to add the feathers in the lower opening.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my project; I'm so happy for the chance to join up with an awesome and talented group of crafters and share my creations with you. Thanks for stopping by; stay crafty and stay safe....hugs, Lynne
