I used jute and this tutorial To make the dreamcatcher design; I had made some as Christmas ornaments a few years ago but needed a refresher course.
I painted the chipboard and jute gold, then added some lines and dots for dimension using Faber Castell Texture Gems. When those were dry I painted over them in gold to blend everything together.
I attached real feathers, chipboard feathers and clock hands with some fibers-in retrospect, I should have waited to attach these until all the misting, heat embossing etc was done ( the heat tool melted the fibers a smidge-oops!) I misted with a variety of shades including gold, orange, green and copper. In addition to the mist I added light brushstrokes of dusty green and copper-coloured acrylic paints.
I added a little Black Soot distress ink on the flowers and paper clocks to tie the colours together a little more The flowers were beige to start with and were painted gold along with the chipboard.
The heat embossing was done with Ranger distress embossing powder in Vintage Photo and Lindy's Stamp Gang in Midnight Gold.
I used some white puffy letters for the word art and painted them gold as well-I added the mist and ink separately to those pieces as I wanted them legible.
This was a fun project to put together and I would definitely try one again, playing around with different colour combinations, textures, etc. Thanks for stopping by!
