The second challenge to me is to actually include journalling, something I seldom if ever do on my layouts. I have been trying to use my own handwriting to keep it personal, although I do default to letter pieces for my titles a lot of the time! The white ones here are Thickers, and I love them! This is one of my very favourite Scripture verses, and I often use it to keep my grounded when I get impatient...have a wonderful day!

He has made everthing beautiful....art journal page for Scraps of Elegance
Hello there! I've fairly recently gotten involved in art journalling and it has been an interesting challenge for me. If you've seen my layouts, you know I like to pile a lot of "stuff" on them, and since art journals by definition are in a book, the pages have to be comparably flat. While I can still include stencilling and chipboard, bulky flowers and metal embellishments are out!

Sweet Summer Layout for Gina's Designs
hi there and happy summer to you ! This weekend marked the official beginning of summer in this part of the world, and I hope you're enjoying sunny skies and warm temperatures, beaches, barbecues...well, you get the picture!
When my kids were younger, we often had pool parties in the summer where they'd invite friends from school, church, or groups they belonged to, and this photo of my daughter and some girlfriends is from one of those. I used the Sweet Summer Shape set to enhance the theme, dry-embossing the pieces, then painting them with acrylic paints. I then heat-embossed them with UTEE, adding random amounts of the powder to create a water-splashed effect.

Stencilling with texture paste and popping up cutout items with foam tape created some dimension on my page, and I added a few droplets on other parts of the layout created with Faber-Castell Texture Gems to continue the water-splashed theme:
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, and whether you spend your summer days in a pool, on a beach, or wherever, I wish you a terrific one!Gina's Items Used

What a Wonderful World: for Scraps of Elegance
hi! We do live in a wonderful and beautiful world; this photo of my daughter was taken in Northern BC Canada where she has been living for almost a year now, and it's an area overflowing with natural wonder, but there is beauty to be found wherever you are.
I created this page as a Design Team project for the Scraps of Elegance kit club, using the lovely June kit, "Stephanie's Treasure". I randomly punched, tore and inked the edges of the background paper. I added stenciling with homemade texture paste and punched the round doily with a Martha Stewart corner punch. The floral clusters are a combination of flowers, diecut foliage, and images fussy-cut from some of the paper. The lace was from my stash, but the pretty curled ribbon was in the kit.
