Irish Blessing- a project for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog

Hello crafty friends! Lynne here today with a cheerful projet to bring in the month of March; it's sunny and mild in Southwestern Ontario as I write this and it's beginning to feel like spring could be on the way.

I used a chipboard piece from Gypsy Soul Lasercuts as the base and painted it white, then brushed it with DecoArt crackle finish before finishing it with a coat of green. After printing it out from Google Images, I cut out lines of the blessing to fit into the shapes on the heart and lightly inked the edges in antique gold before attaching them. The white flowers were lightly misted with green glimmmer mist. The background paper and the one I fussy cut the leaves from are both from Prima's Garden Fable collection. I handcut the shammrocks and added a tiny green ribbon rose to complete the cluster at the bottom.

This was a pleasure to put together and became a gift for a dear family member who has been to Ireland and loved it, and who has had a tough time recently and could use a blessing.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I wish you joy, peace and creativity! xx

  1. Lynne this is such an inspiring piece, full of wisdom with words. I really love how you encapsulated the all within the shape of a heart makes it all extra special. St Patricks day is a day not to be forgotten in my home as it is also my Boys Girlfriends special day.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring mixed media creation, you've set my weekend off to a grand start.
Stay safe & creative Hugs Tracey xx

  6. Hello Lynne, I saw your heart at the challenge site. It is fabulous and I immediately went over to the GS Laser cuts site to look at the heart. I was very pleased they have a place in the U.K. Angela
