in the lupine field...

In 2007 we went out to Northern BC to visit my parents and hiked up the ski hill  (played in the snow in August)  Lupines were growing wild on the mountain and I couldn't resist getting a picture of my daughter, who was 12 at the time, taking a break in the middle of them.

I've had this paper forever and loved it, and it just happened to match the Color Room's palette; they're joined up with Scrap for Help, who's challenge is to use cork on your layout.

and the Color Room challenge here:

I whitewashed the floral pattern a little to soften it, added some stenciling with texture paste, a wee spray of fuschia mist, and cut the cork strips with scalloped scissors before punching holes in them.

  2. Hello! Thanks so much for playing along with S4H. Your page is gorgeous. It has that great carefree look, but of course we all know that a lot of work went into it to make it look "carefree!" I like how how you used the bits and pieces of cork--nice take on the challenge.
