My Friendship Bus-for Gina's Designs

Hi there-Lynne here with a layout that's dear to my heart: I found this picture on Facebook and it is so very ME that I just had to use it for a page:
I'm pretty introverted and have a very small circle of friends who mean the world to me, so this layout sums it all up:

I used Stampendous Aged Copper embossing powder on the chain and the gears, dry-embossed the little car, then painted it and rubbed it with black ink, and I painted the hearts and title letters, then embossed them with UTEE:

Thanks so much for stopping by; whether your circle of friends would fit on a "short bus" like this one or you'd need a Greyhound bus, cherish every one of them for they're one of the greatest blessings in life! Hugs!

"Magical" Art Journal page-for Scraps of Elegance

I recently joined an art journalling group here in my town hoping I'd be inspired to create projects involving more journalling and so far I've been enjoying the challenge; our inspiration word for this month is "magical" and I found this wonderful quote and a fun image, and the paper with the playing cards on it made me think of "Alice in Wonderland" so it was perfect to use on this project:

I did some zentangle-style doodles and some hand-printed journalling, both scary stuff for someone used to making "pretty" layouts...but I think it's great for me to step out of my comfort zone and try different things-it definitely makes life more interesting!

ATC shrine and ATC for Gina's Designs

hi there; Lynne here with a fun project -I decorated one of Gina's adorable little ATC shrines and made a coordinating ATC (although I'm thinking the shrine would also make a wonderful little gift box!)
The design of the shrine put me in mind of a window, so I added little tulle "curtains", and the                                                     background paper inside has a soft cloud pattern.

I added several fussy-cut images from the paper, which I popped up with foam tape, and also used several pieces from Gina's Mini Flourishes Bella, which I painted, stamped and heat-embossed.

Thanks so much for stopping by; check out the great selection of these adorable ATC shrines in Gina's store-they're so much fun to decorate and can be used for so many things! Have a super-happy, colourful and creative week!

Picket Fence Clock for Scraps of Elegance and Gina's Designs

hi! This wintery weather seems to be inspiring me to create projects with spring and summer feels to them, and this fun clock is no exception with the addition of butterflies and dragonflies (and the little fairy who's          sitting there braving the elements with no coat, boots, gloves, or hat on. I covered the picket fence with                 some of the Blue Fern Studio Love Story paper, and the clock base with Prima Epiphany,                                           then fussy cut butterflies and the dragonfly from the Epiphany paper as well.

The clock face was coloured with Antique Gold Rub and Buff, then I added bits of Perfect Pearls powder here and there for a bit of shimmer.
After painting the bird piece and adding texture paste, I added small amounts of  Rub and Buff as well as some Perfect Pearls, which I brushed on after stamping the area with Versamark.

I heat embossed the fairy then stamped over with Versamark and added Perfect pearls so all the pieces had some of the same shimmery gold, pink and pearly white. I also added perfect pearls to the stencilling on the paper behind the clock face

This was a fun project to create and will be a useful addition to my scraproom! Have a wonderful week, stay warm, and create something beautiful!!

Beautiful Moments Together for Scraps of Elegance

Hello dear scrappy ones!I created this layout as a Design Team project for Scraps of Elegance using the beautiful  February kit, "Lisa's Love Letters", which contained this wonderful Prima paper from the Epiphany collection.

I recently came across this old photo of my mother as a bridesmaid at her brother's wedding, standing with her lovely new sister-in-law; I know this was in the early 1950s.

I loved the paper so much I didn't want to cover too much of it up with layers, so instead I chose to pop up some of the butterflies and birdcages for dimension and add subtle white stencilling. The sweet crocheted flowers are from the Epiphany collection as well; I inked the edges to create a bit of contrast. Thanks so much for stopping by; I appreciate every single visit!
