Brush Caddy for Gina's Designs Lasercuts

hi! Lynne here with a much-needed addition to my scraproom; we all know a crafter can NEVER have enough storage, and I just love this cute brush caddy from Gina's store! I finished it with Hope Chest papers by Pink Paislee to coordinate with the desk organizer I finished a while back.

The project was easy to put together; I simply applied the paper, sanded and inked the edges, then added some fussy cut images, chipboard flourishes and stenciling with texture paste.

The flourishes were heat-embossed with Stampendous Aged Copper, which gave them a vintage look.

Check out the great selection of organizers available in Gina's store; I have a feeling I'm not done collecting them!  Just think how organized I'll be when I have them all....

Love this....a shabby chic layout

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm an animal lover, and that I enjoy scrapping photos of my sweet furbabies. I caught Lily and Zoey napping together in front of my scraproom window and love the soft look of the resulting photo.

The beautiful chipboard flourishes and the title piece were first painted with tan acrylic paint, then with Ranger Crackle Paint in clear Rock Candy. I then rubbed Ranger Gathered Twigs ink over them to enhance the look of the cracks. It's a simple way to get a natural earthy look.

Thanks for visiting, and have yourself a wonderfully creative week!

Celebrating Spring-cards and tag for Gina's Designs

hi there!Lynne here-it's finally really starting to look like spring here in Southwestern Ontario, and I'm celebrating with some spring-themed creations.

\
The chipboard was dry-embossed, then heat embossed with a mixture of pearlized embossing powders. I then rubbed them with gold and bronze gelatos for warmer colours that coordinated with my papers.I love the texture and dimension the pieces get from the different embossing methods! I used some homemade texture paste to stencil for some added dimension on the background papers

Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to check out the great chipboard pieces in the Spring Shape Set-these are just a few of the many items included!

Beachy Tissue box cover for Gina's Designs

hi there! Here today with a much-needed seasonal replacement for the winter-themed tissue box cover I made using some of Gina's chipboard a few months back; the other decor in my bathroom is beach-themed, so I figured this would be a great opportunity to use some of my favourite chipboard shapes.

I painted everything cream to match the lace cover, then misted with teal and tan spray mists to echo the colours in my decor.

The sand dollar was covered with texture paste and the starfish with a gesso/salt paste before they were painted; I added some real shells, pearl strands and of course flowers. I love the way the finished cover looks with my beach-themed decor! Just think, beach weather isn't too far away :)

Steampunk altered tea box for Gina's Designs

I've had these awesome papers for ages and until I started browsing through the my great collection of Gina's chipboard, really had no idea how I wanted to use it, but the papers and chipboard pieces ended up being a match made in heaven (or in my scraproom!) for this tea box I had saved.
I used Dusty Attic Rusting Powder on the barbed wire frame, then rubbed it with Smooch ink for a worn, vintage look.

The gears were finished the same way as the frame; the dress form was painted, then stamped with Versamark and heat-embossed, and the bee was covered with black flocking. I had a blast picking out pieces that worked with the papers and giving them different looks and textures!
Here's my bow/topper; just paper strips and black tulle, with a couple butterflies added here and there. Thanks heaps for checking out my project, and remember to hang on to interesting boxes and other containers; you never know when you'll be inspired to create something interesting with them :)

Scraps of Elegance March Kit-"Anna's Daydream"

hi! I've so enjoyed creating with this beautiful kit, and as always was so impressed with the versatility of the products included. They suit any creative style and allow you to create so many different projects....I still have tons of goodies left after making these, and have already got a set of cards started for my other design team using some of the papers from this kit!

This heritage page features my grandmother's cousin in 1918; I so enjoyed making flowers with the paper so that they'd coordinate perfectly, and the subtle diamond pattern in the background paper just begged to be echoed throughout the design.

These colours lent themselves to a nature-themed photo; my daughter is crouched above the falls in the photo but can't really be seen here. I used the ornate frame that was also included in the kit, and the flowers are from a previous Scraps of Elegance kit.

A much more high-contrast page-as soon as I saw this photo of my daughter on her boyfriend's Facebook page, I knew it would be perfect with these papers, and I had a great time adding colours to echo the fabulous hues in the photo. The stencilled butterflies were created with a stencil included in the kit, and the feathers were included as well.

This is an art journal page; the beautiful butterflies are a part of the kit, and so is the blue ink I used for some of the stencilling.I love how you can make so many projects with each kit and have them all look totally different! Thanks so much for stopping by....and I can't wait to receive next month's kit, which just happens to be named after ME!!

CREATE spring banner for Gina's Designs

Hello there and happy spring!Seems like it's been a long time coming for some of us,so I created this banner with papers and colours that felt like spring to me! I love the layers of the banner pieces and had a great time putting this together.

I covered the banner layers with Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers, then lightly sanded and inked the edges. The letters were dry-embossed, then painted, stamped and heat-embossed. I added a bunch of fussy-cut images for dimension and fun.

I especially loved the way the way the embossing added so much texture to the letters! Thanks so much for visiting, and hope you decide to CREATE something this week to make you smile!
